For those who would benefit from feeling validated and supported by others, or for those who learn easier through interactions with others, group therapy may be a beneficial therapeutic format.
Many studies have shown that group therapy can be more powerful than individual therapy. I provide groups that meet for 2 hours at a time, once a week for 6 weeks.
The following groups are currently being offered:
“Utilizing Art to Manage Stress” is a group developed to increase one’s understanding of how trauma affects the thoughts, feelings and behaviors of individuals and provides the necessary tools to promote the healing process. This is a group comprised of the same members (8 max) throughout the 6-week period to provide a safe space to explore, express and grow through creativity and connection. Art supplies are provided. No previous art experience is necessary.
“Internal Family Systems” is a group designed to help increase insight to patterns of thoughts and behaviors, increasing self-compassion, as well as to heal attachment wounds and relational traumas. Throughout the 6 weeks, we will be examining the internal parts of the psyche that require protecting, and the different parts that serve to protect it. This is to deepen the understanding and awareness of these internal relationships in order to have a greater sense of self leadership and to become the best version of yourself. The fee includes a copy of Self-Therapy Workbook.
Group therapy fees are $300 for the six 2-hour sessions. Many people choose group therapy for the connections they create and the support they receive. Many choose group therapy because it is a more economical than individual sessions. Whatever your reasons, group therapy can be very profound and impactful, especially in conjunction with individual therapy.
